Raymond Yu, double bass

2006 is the first summer for me to join Asian Youth Orchestra. AYO gave me a platform to experience the professional musician's life. The world-known AYO faculties, they are very supportive and even become friends with us. Specially, thank you double bass faculty Mr. David Sheets.

In 2009, it's my pleasure to have recommendation from Mr. Pontzious, for me to study my MM in USA. After graduate, I back HK and joined the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and start teaching. Few years later, my student, Dominic Law, joined AYO 2014 and now he is studying BMus at The Juilliard School.

In 2017, I stepped down from the orchestra job. Working hard to build up a music shop with some friends. Hope I can bring more good quality instruments and products for the HK musicians.
