Paola Bonora

Flute
 

Paola Bonora was born in Milan, where she begun her first musical studies at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi, graduating in 1985. That same year she moved to Paris where she started post graduate studies under Raymond Guiot at the Conservatoire Hector Berlioz, obtaining first prize by unanimous consent. In 1987 she won the competition at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Paris and was admitted to Alain Marion's class who guided her until she obtained in 1990 the Premier Prix both in Flute and in Chamber Music.

 

Prof. Bonora has played as Principal Flute with major international orchestra such as London Philharmonic Orchestra, London BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Wales, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra and Ensemble Intercontemporain of Paris. She has played in the most important Festivals such as Festival d'Arts Lyrique Aix en Provence, Festival d'Edinburgh, Lucerne Festival, London Proms, Schleswig-Holstein, Haydn Festival Eisenstadt and Ravenna Festival. Starting in 2010 she deepened her studies and use of historical instruments, from 14th century Arts Nova, with reconstruction of the Middle Ages "traversa,"through baroque, classical and romantic flute. She is professor of flute at the "Donizetti" Conservatory of Bergamo. This is her fourth summer with AYO.
