
Stephan Xie
Piano Soloist
Winner of 2025 Tianjin Juilliard Piano Festival, Stephan was born to a family of classical Chinese art heritage, he began his musical journey at the age of 8. He has studied at the Pre-College Division at The Phil and Eli Taylor Academy for Young Artists of The Royal Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Dr. Michael Berkovsky, and then went on to study at the Yale School of Music under Boris Berman and Wei-Yi Yang. He is currently under the tutelage of Ning An at the Yong Siew Tow Conservatory of Music in Singapore.
Stephan is a laureate of several international competitions. Runner-up at the Bosendorfer/Yamaha USASU International Piano Competition in the U.S, Stephan made his debut at the age of 15 with the Royal Conservatory of Music Academy Chamber Orchestra in Koerner Hall of Toronto and was soon critically acclaimed by his uncanny maturity and sensitivity to music. He was the grand prize winner at the 5th National Canadian Chopin Competition and was subsequently a quarter-finalist at The 18th
International Chopin Competition, Warsaw.
Stephan has performed extensively throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Notably he has been offered to play at Salle Cortot in Paris, France, and the Scholss Esterházy in Vienna. In 2021 he was invited to partake in the “International Chopin and His Europe Festival” that involved a series of concert venues in Poland. Most recently he has been invited by Maestro Zhang Guoyong to play in several occasions with The Guiyang Symphony Orchestra, followed by a series of piano recitals in multiple cities across Asia.
